I'm getting error code 1648 trying to install office updates.
The log is below:
MSI (s) (40:78) [16:48:06:377]: Product: Microsoft Office Professional
Edition 2003 - Update '{6EE34979-0355-44EB-8761-21D32B1CE4AB}' could not be
installed. Error code 1648. Additional information is available in the log
file C:\WINNT\Profiles\Update\Application
Data\OfficeUpdate12\Temp\OU_MSI_518851_(00004).log.
MSI (s) (40:78) [16:48:06:387]: Product: Microsoft Office Professional
Edition 2003 -- Installation failed.
No valid sequence could be found for the set of patches.

I found this Knowledge Base article below, and I tried it on this system,
but it did not help.

I uninstall Office 2003 and reinstall it but I get the same error messsage.
