Office 2003 update : installation failed because of missing cab

M

Maurice

I recently installed Windows XP service Pack 2, and I was advised to update
as well my Office 2003 Pro.
I did it, but now each time I try to open one of the Office 2003 software, I
get the message that the SKU011.CAB is missing, and I don't find it in my
installation CD.

Before that, Office worked perfectly fine, and I wonder how to fix quickly
that problem. I'm not happy at all with this download, which was supposed to
keep me up to date with the security issues.

Hi, Maurice,

I believe that SKU011.CAB is on an Office Enterprise Edition CD. Do you
have an Office Professional Edition CD instead?

Was it pre-installed by your computer manufacturer? If so, it's possible
they installed Office from a different CD, and the CD you haven't doesn't
seem to match what was installed. You'll need to either uninstall and
re-install from your CD, or contact your OEM (Original Equipment
Manufacturer) to get the correct CD.

Hi Susan,
I am getting a similar problem but I use Office Basic
2003 and when I try to update with sp3 I get "SKU01A.CAB"
can't be found. I insert the original CD and it still
can't locate that file. there are many other version
of .CAB files but not SKU01A.CAB. where can i get this so
I can download the service pack?
thanks!!

Do you have other Office family products installed, such as Publisher,
FrontPage, InfoPath or Works? You can look in the Windows Control Panel's
Add | Remove Programs application to see what else the Windows installer
might be looking for. Then try inserting that CD.
