office 2003

When I go to open files made with office 97 it won't recognize them. I am
running office 2003 and I have crucial documents to process. Help....
Please?

When I open the document it says it needs a convertor to display the file
correctly.
It goes to download and looks for the original install cd but i can't find
and I've tried many patches from Microsoft web site but still no success.

Do you mean you can't find the converter file or that you can't find the
original CD?
