I currently have Office 2003 running XP . I mostly use Word.. Now I will be
getting a new computer running MS Office 2007. With the 2 issues , new
system & new Office version, will I be able to put my .doc programs on the
new computer. What options do I have.

You won't have any problems using 07 to work with files created by 03.
The other way round, however ...
