What are pip files in office 2003? Are they the files that contain
customization of the toolbars?

Thanks for your help.

IIRC, the *.pip files contain the usage data for your personalized
menu/toolbar settings. These aren't customizations (not exactly) they store
your most frequently used commands for the
Tools/Customize/Options/Personalized Menu/Toolbar options. If you keep your
Standard/Formatting toolbars on two rows and always show full menus then
they aren't exactly being used -- they get updated but you aren't utilizing
them.

Thank you. Do you know where the customized toolbars are stored for Word,
Excel & PowerPoint??

Word toolbar customizations are stored in Normal.dot (unless you created
another template for this purpose).

PowerPoint, toolbar customizations are stored in a .PCB file.

Excel toolbar customizations are stored in a .XLB file.

There's also the "Save My Settings" Wizard that will back up your personal
preferences and customizations for you:
