I cannot install it due to an error message: "error
opening installatio log file. Verify that the specfied
log file location exists and is writeable" Can anyone
advise how to fix this prob? Thanks Jack

In a network environment, The message points to a lack
of rights to a folder.
Make sure you have full rights to the folders you are
writing to.
The original Office setup CD will not write back a log to
the CD, but into the %TEMP% folder. Network installs will
probably differ. in that scenario, whoever built the
install probably set it up for himself, who probably has
much more access to folders in the system.
