Somehow my standard toolbar has disappeared in Word and it will not
come back even if I check it in the view; toolbars; standard menu and
still it won't come back. Please help!!

Try selecting the Standard toolbar in Tools/Customize/Customize
Toolbars/Menus (so that the name is highlighted, not just the checkbox
checked). Click Reset, then click OK.
