Office 2004 will not install

Office 2004 will not install from CD or by drag and drop to
hard drive. In either case the installer quits after
agreement. We have tried repairing permissions before
installing, after but before running the install, tried
rebooting, tried yelling at it etc. This is system 10.3.4
on 12" powerbook with several gigs of space on the section
with the system. It did install on our G5 running the same
system. Any ideas? We do have office X installed on the
machine

Really weird... The only things I can think of would be the usual:

- check hard drive for problems
- check fonts for corruption
- make sure your quicktime codecs are up to date (eg DivX codecs that can be
crashy)
