Office 2007 activation issue

C

Chris Coates

I had to reload my laptop and installed Office 2007 Beta 2.
When trying to activate I keep getting a "The Activation Wizard is unable to
find a connection to the internet." error. I am using a direct internet
connection, no proxy, no firewall (even tried to activate over dial up).
The strange thing is I also installed Viso 2007 Beta 2 and it has no problem
activating!
This has been going on for 2 days.
Any suggestions?

I've been trying to activate today and I'm also getting blocked. My attempts
[over the last 8 hours] generate the response that the site is down for
routine maintenance so I should try again in a "few minutes". I suspect
that they have a server problem and the activation sequence is just trying
its best to interpret the lack of response as best it can.

I'm waiting out the storm too.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling with a new key. No luck though. Same
activation error.

I'm getting the same error - it is insanely frustrating. I went so far as to
call microsoft and the simple answer was they see no issue with the
activation servers. So, unfortunately, I'm not confident they are even aware
there is an issue.
