Acrobat 7 came out long before 2007 and the ribbon interface did.

It'll probably add a toolbar-looking-thing to the add-ins tab but won't add
a normal ribbon tab.

You need to update to Acrobat 8.1 or later in order for the
PDFMaker toolbar to work properly in Office 2007 applications.

Suggest you do two steps.

First, in Acrobat 7 use Help, Updates to ensure that you have all the
updates that Adobe is still offering for Acrobat 7.

Second, test the creation of a PDF for files using Office 2007 formats to
verify compatibility.

Also, some recent updates to Acrobat 9 and Adobe Reader 9 have been for
security problems. I am not sure that Adobe is providing security fixes for
Acrobat 7.

You should be able to do that; it won't convert links from Word to PDF or so
any of the other fun stuff the add-in does. You end up with a non-interactive
document, but if that's all ya need, you're good to go.

But since you have Office 2007, you can save to PDF directly w/o Acrobat.

If you have SP2, it's included automatically. If you haven't applied SP2, you
need to d/l the Save As PDF add-in.

With the smallish documents I usually create, it's done saving the PDF faster
than Acrobat can lumber to life and ask you where to PUT the PDF.
