When writing letters my grammar is not that good is there a tweak or another
method that can and will enable the grammar to better assist me?

Thank you,

I'm not being a smart a$$, but I would suggest visiting your local library
or bookstore and pick up some books on grammar. That will be better than
depending on a machine to correct you.

I would have to agree, however that is something I do not have the time for.
Does MS have any tweaks to make the grammar better in word?

The settings for the grammar checker are in Word Options.
Office Button=>Word Options=>Proofing (Alt, T, O, P)
under the 'Writing Style' and [Settings[ choice.
