Office 2007 and Group Policy

Error " Add operation failed. Unable to extract deployment information from
the package. Run validation from the package to ensure package is correct".

Google and Microsoft havent yet provided a way of doing a GP install of 2007
that works. I tried from a admin install point and the cd itself.

I have 2003 servers with AD and XP pro machines. Office XP worked perfect so
I must be missing something. I am not knowledgable with using scripts as some
articles suggest.

I read thru the first 30 pages of this group and didnt find an answer. I
have run out of ideas. Read it seams like a hundred white papers....

Is it even possible to do? Without scripts?

Hello Bondo

I had the same problem and discovered that elements of config.xml in the
main application folder (eg enterprise.ww) that I had customised were case
sensitive. In my case I had specified product options to install with
optionstate id. In some cases I had put OptionState Id and in others
OptionState ID. When I changed them all to OptionState Id as per the
original file all was well. There is a thread here

Which someone has said that this also worked for them.
