Hey there,
I am working with Office 2007 with SharePoint and I noticed tha
everytime I click on a document within SharePoint it launches th
appropriate application for that document. When it opens, I a
challenged by the Office Suite to login. After the first attempt I a
challenged yet again even though I entered in the correct information.
Here's what I found:
1st Challenge = SharePoint Authentication
2nd Challenge = WebDAV Authentication (Only once)
The problem is once you authenticate with WebDAV, it will not reques
credentials again. So if several users share a Windows account, an
they request certain data from SharePoint which is secured via RBAC. I
the first username/password combo fails, Office will automaticall
attempt to authenticate with those WebDAV credentials.
Besides disabling the Web Client services, is there a server sid
solution that I can implement that will either prevent this issue o
force WebDAV to authenticate each and every time.
