Office 2007 and Windows Vista - Microsoft Outlook and Windows Mail

I installed Office 2007 from Windows Vista.
1. Microsoft Outlook installed alongside Windows Mail, though both do the
same job.
2. Two Outlook icons appeared in the Quick Launch area, displacing the
Windows Mail icon to the rightmost position.
3. None of the Local Folders nor the Address book were transferred to Outlook.
4. Windows Mail in Vista still works fine.

I have jut noticed that there are two extra copies of each email in the Vista
Windows Mail local folders.
This, and the details below lead me to suspect that whem Office 2007
(Outlook) installed, it added the extra copies of the emails into the Mail
local folders instead of the Outlook folders.
Maybe the version of Office 2007, for installation from Vista, should
include Windows Mail instead of Microsoft Outlook.

Windows Mail is simply OE renamed with a couple of extra bells and whistles.
Outlook is the Exchange client with oodles of bells and whistles. Why would
Microsoft shortchange Exchange customers (probably 80% of Outlook users)
with a far less functional simple mail program?

Milly, thank you for your info.
I'm just reporting a conflict between Vista and Office beta.
Hopefully it will be resolved before Vista and Office 2007 are officially
released.
