I am having a terrible time saving files created in Word that I want to
e-mail to others as attachments. They do NOT have Office 2007. i have
attempted to save the new file as a Word 97-2003 document, as a RTF file
format, and as the new doxc format. None seem to work. Please tell me how
to do? Other than this major problem, i have at least figured out the new
interface of Word 2007- but this problem makes me sorry i went to Office
2007. TIA for any help.

It would help if you would define what "None seem to work" means. Do you
get an error message when saving the file? Or are others having a
problem opening your files? If so, what error message are they getting?
What version(s) of Word are they using? Have they tried the file
compatibility utility from MS' web site?

Normally, saving as 97-2000 works...I do it myself frequently.

I meant that I HAVE saved files as both Word 9-2003 and as RFT files and
neither file can be opened by the person i am sending the attachments to. I
thought that by saving as a Word 93-2003 document would solve the issue.
I am not getting erros on my end when I save. One person has Vista OS, and
has MS Works 2007(I think) the other is running XP, but I am not sure which
program is being used to open my attachment, other than they used to be able
to open right away when I sent attachments as .doc and Office 2003.
Short of requesting them to download & install the tool you mentioned, is
there anything I can do on MY end that would work? The people do not seem to
want to install a special tool to read my attachments. i hope this clarifies
my situation better. Thank you.
