Office 2007 attachments cannot be opened by recipients.....

Sending same old Word and Excel files I had sent for years with XP & Office
2003, but customers are calling and complaining. Obviously, I have some
settings that need changing! Can someone explain why my customers can no
longer view the attachments I send? Thank you!

Are you sending them .doc and .xls files... or are you sending .docx and
..xlsx files? If the latter, then you need to tell Word and Excel to save in
Word 97-2003 and Excel 97-2003 format.

For any file you've already created, open it and choose Office - Save As -
Word 97-2003 (or Excel 97-2003).

To force Word and Excel to default to saving in the older compatible format,
choose Office - Word Options (or Excel Options) - Save, and set Save files
in this format to Word 97-2003 and Excel 97-2003, respectively.

The other alternative would be to have your recipients install the free
Office 2007 compatibility pack, but I tend to think that shifting the burden
to them is asking too much.
