Office 2007 Beta activation

I guess they finally fixed the problem - at least I hope so. But, Damn, do I
really like 2007! So far, my favorite is the "To-Do Bar" in Outlook. I know
it is a small thing, but I have been wanting to be able to see my calendar
and tasks at the same time as my inbox for a VERY long time...

I was finally able to get activation from Microsoft. I recommend using
Microsoft Outlook to do the activation. In fact, I opened both Outlook and
Word and was able to get activation through Outlook. Activation was able to
get all of Office Beta activated. I had to activate Project, Groove, and
OneNote separately - but they went easily.

Continue trying and you shall succeed. I also recommend disabling your
firewall (Microsoft OneCare) when you try to activate.

I successfully activated Office 2007 on my XP Pro laptop but had issues when
I tried to activate on my Win Media Edition. I believe the issue is that
Office 2003 is not being completely removed.

Attempting to resolve by uninstalling Office 2007 and 2003, then do a clean
install of 2007.

I left Office 2003 completely installed on XP Home Edition and have had no
problems since the activation servers picked back up.

Thanks. I realized after minutes after posting this thread that the
activation server was back up.

I've also tested my Tablet PC and noticed when upgrading from 2003 to 2007,
2003 shell is left behind. No issues on my XP Home and Pro machines.

Is this why I am no longer able to use my 2003 version of outlook anymore? I
tried reinstalling office 2003, word, excel and powerpoint work but outlook
gives me an error message saying that the mapi32.dll is damaged or corrupt
and I need to reinstall it or the office software. I do not want to
uninstall outlook because I do not want to lose all my emails and contacts in
my address book.

Hi Jeff,if your useing nortons firewall just disable it for 30 minutes or so
then go through the activation process again, this time it should work, then
reactivate the firewall and reboot to be on the safe side.Hope this helps,Jinx

Hi Jeff.
I have the same problem as well. Someone at Microsoft will hopefully work
with me to resolve this.
Let me know if you ever had it resolved.
Thanks very much.

hey guys, i had the same problem, here's what i did (it worked perfect):

1. Close all Microsoft Office applications.
2. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
3. Locate the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Registration
Delete the following entries:
• DigitalProductID
• ProductID

when you start office again, enter your product key, then click next, then
install now. it will update your key, and ask you to activate. it should work
fine. let me know if this helped
