Office 2007 beta fails to uninstall

B

bobengel

My current version of Office 2007 beta needs to be reinstalled because
Outlook and Word no longer work properly; however, I need to first uninstall
it and I'm getting an error message as follows: "Error 1402 - Microsoft
Office Professional Plus 2007 beta did not complete successfully." The
uninstall process rolls back. "Setup cannot open the registry key
UNKNOWN\.mdb\PersistentHandler". It then suggests checking for the proper
permissions but I searched for this registry key and it doesn't exist in my
registry.

Not being able to reinstall Office 2007 because I can't uninstall the
current version places me "between a rock and a hard place". Suggestions on
how to get out of this dilemma will be most appreciated

After you removed it, don't reinstall the beta. Rather, install the
trial versions from http://trymicrosoftoffice.com

I recently was asked to Beta test the 2007 Enterprise version. I
downloaded and went to install it and I received:

"Setup is unable to proceed due to the following error(s):
The 2007 Microsoft Office system does not support upgrading from a
prerelease version of the 2007 Microsoft Office system. You must first
uninstall any prerelease versions of the 2007 Microsoft Office system
products and associated technologies.
Correct the issue(s) listed above and re-run setup."

I tried to unstall through Add/Remove program but I receive:
"This product has been corrupted. Run setup again from the CD, DVD, or
other installation source."

I found the Article 928218 and then tried to uninstall the Microsoft
Office Professional Plus 2007 T2R(Beta) and I get an error message
saying:

"This product has been corrupted. Run setup again from the CD, DVD, or
other installation source."

I try to uninstall with Windows Install Clean Up and I get this error
message:

"This installation package could not be opened. Verify That the Package
Exists and that you can acces it"

I have been all over the web since this morning trying figure out how
to uninstall it with no luck at all. I do not have the Original set
up files any more and MS has eliminated access to downloading it again.
I am at a loss as to what I should do.. then I found this and thought
there might be a glimmer of hope still...

I am currently trying to reinstall the Tech Refresh listed on your blog
to see if I can then try to uninstall it from there. I will repost to
let you know if that works!!!!

I would really like to start testing the 2007 enterprize beta soon..
any ideas?

I appreciate any help you can offer!

Hi,

I am trying to uninstall Microsoft Office Professional 2007 Beta but
when I click on uninstall, it says "Product installation has been
corrupted. Run installation again from CD/DVD or other installation
source."

I also downloaded and installed the Beta Technical refresh. I need to
get rid of both of these.

Please help!!!
