Office 2007 (Home & Student) 3-user licence query

Hi all.

Could someone explain how the licence restriction works?
I only bought Office 2007 a few months back and tried to install it to a
problematic laptop which crashed during install (after entering product key).
After restart I was unable to continue installation from where it crashed, so
had to uninstall and follow through again (entering product key again). Now
the laptop is so bad that it needs to be replaced imminently. I'll be
replacing it with a new laptop so will have to install again! but then if I
have any problems or need to reset things when the Windows 7 upgrade comes,
then will I have no more licence/installation rights!?
I only ever want Office on my own laptop, will the software/registration
page recognise this?
Any help really appreciated!

Depends on the time interval between installations, use phone activation if
online fails

You have three concurrent installs (onto three computers at the same time.)
The first two installs should not have created any issue as it was a
reinstall to the same computer. When you install onto your new computer
that would account for the 2nd.

The license restriction on changing machines is once every 90 days or as the
exact wording is:
"14. REASSIGN TO ANOTHER DEVICE. You may reassign the license to a
different device any number of times, but not more than one time every 90
days. If you reassign, that other device becomes the “licensed device.â€
If you retire the licensed device due to hardware failure, you may
reassign the license sooner. "

Even though you have installed onto two different computers (after your new
one comes or even after upgrading to Win 7) you still have only used one
install as long as it is uninstalled or incapable of being used on the first
computer which "crashed."

At the worst you may have to use telephone activation. It normally is very
painless, just be sure to have a pencil and paper handy to write down the
very long activation code that you need to enter into the computer. (Write
it down and also type it in at the prompts.) Of course that activation code
provided on the telephone is only good for that one install. Don't release
the call until the code is typed in and accepted.
