In office 2003 i used to have both "new office document" and "open office
document" on my start menu. However, i can't find these in office 2007. Is
there an option for reinstalling this that i have missed?

Click on the round "Office" icon on the top left corner of whatever 2007
application you are running. Your missing features, and many more, are there.

No, i mean the new office document from the start menu. It used to enable
you to load up a new word/excel/powerpoint document etc with different
templates, but i can't find this option, and was wondering if how i could
reinstate it, or if it had been removed.

Edit: i found it. was optional component in add/remove features, which
strangely isnt installed by default.

I apologize, I completely misunderstood. I do have the “New Office Documentâ€
& “Open Office Document†available from my Start Menu however, perhaps it’s
because I opted to leave Office 2000 intact?

Hi Mike,

FWIW, the New and Open Office document shortcuts were also optional installation choices in Office 2003. They may have been
installed in either a custom installation choice when installing or in an upgrade scenario.

The new template from MS Office Button (File)=>New has a lot to offer in the way of access to templates on your PC and online and
will be updated on an ongoing basis with new items. There are a lot of posts from folks over the past months looking for specific
templates. This should hopefully help with some of those quests.
