Office 2007 - Not enough memory or disk space to run...

I have the academic retail version of Office Professional 2007. It has
worked fine for years. I upgraded to vista home premium, and now cannot open
any Office documents, nor can I open any Office application.

"Not enough memory or disk space to run Word 12"

I have 2GB of RAM and 320GB hard drive with only 20% in use, so it's clearly
not a usage issue. I have cleaned up all of the temp files and defragmented
the hard drive, so no clutter left.

I've seen posts with the same problem with the Beta of Office 2007, but not
the retail version.

Any ideas?

Update:
When I go into 'my computer', click through to the winword executable, and
choose the right-click option 'run as administrator' the program starts.
There is only one account on my computer, the administrator account. Any
ideas about a setting that I'm missing that doesn't allow me to execute from
the desktop?

Thanks.

When you say "upgraded" to Vista how did you do that?
Have you tried doing a repair of Office from Control panel?

It was an in-place upgrade from Windows XP.
I don't see an option for repairing Office in control panel. What should I
be looking for?

Thanks.
