If you have Microsoft Word 2002 listed there and you choose 'Change' can you successfully complete a Repair/Reinstall from the next
menu?

all of the works programs are shown on the add/remove list, i have tried to
repair all of them including word, i have also done the registery edit and
deleted both the MS office and MS works components. however, none of this
works.
