Office 2007: Pointing "New Office Document" to a folder

J

Jad

Hi. In previous Office, I could point the Start Menu item "New Office
Document" to a particular folder containing my custom templates simply by
using the File Locations area in Word. I would manually configure the "User
Templates" entry to my custom folder [I use %userprofile%\My
Documents\Templates], and the *special* Start Menu item would point to that
folder thereafter.

Ideas?

Thanks! /jim

Yes, I was unclear wasn't I.

The question is: With Office 2007, my old trick doesn't work. I cannot
seem to reroute the "New Office Document" entry on the Start Menu to point to
my folder of templates.

Question: How can I get the "New Office Document" Start Menu item to
display the contents of my "custom templates" folder?

Thanks/jad

Sorry, I've no idea. I was hoping someone else would, though!
