Euan

I have recently installed office 2007 beta and i am haing a problem with
printing. it seems that the content of some of my documents is now outside
the page and so doesnt get printed when i attempt to print it.
The same documetns used to print fine with previosu verison of office and
still print fine with Open Office.
Any suggestions as to why this is happening and/or how to fix it?

Hi Euan,

Is this in all the Office 2007 apps or only certain ones?

As you mentioned you're only seeing this in 'some' documents is there anything common with these, such as small margins, or graphics
that float over the margin edges?

What message are you getting and have you checked for a more recent printer driver version for your printer model [?] ?

Word, for example, reads the settings that the printer driver you have installed feeds back for determining the 'outside the
margins' message.

If you use File=>Save as=>PDF in Word does your document appear correctly in the PDF file?

Hey Bob,

Sorry i realised i hadnt been clear enough in that earlier message.

Word documents don't print porperly, they are outside the margins.
When i save as a pdf it seems to work fine.
Lines of text are cut off at the edge.

I have the latest printer driver.
Incedentally i did just switch printers, but i don't think i tried office
2007 on the older printer so i don't know if it was because of that change.

I'll attempt to print again and see what error i get, from recollection it
sometimes says that the texst is outside of the printable margins or
something similar.

Thanks for the prompt response.

I am having the same problem that Euan is having with every document I create
in Word 2007 beta the only way I can get anything to print properly is to
save it as a 2003 document. Any help that anyone else could give us would be
appriecated

Office 2007 Beta seems to have some issues with certain printers and
print drivers.
What printer do you have? Have you checked that you have the newest
driver for your printer?
Do you have Adobe Acrobat Pro or any other PDF writer installed? If yes,
do you see the same issue when you print to the respective PDF printer?
Do you see the same issue when you use Office button, Save As, PDF?

In case you the issue when printing to a pdf printer or when saving as
pdf, please email me a copy of your document (if you can share it that
is). You can get my email address from my website. In those cases, it is
probably a bug in Word that is unrelated to your particular printer and
needs to be fixed. I'll submit the bug to Microsoft. Why? It's beta software. Issues are to be expected.

Hi, I have the same problem, when I try to print in Word 2007 Beta 2 it tells
me that my margins are outside of the printable area. Trying to format the
text using 'Normal margins' on the ribbon does nothing. I have the latest
printer drivers and even reinstalled them for my Canon ip5000. Such a shame
as the new features seem really good but without the ability to print they're
pointless.

PS where can you report bugs as this seems like a good one to point out!?!

Patrick thank you for you comments. I had a HP 2100 all in one which work
just fine in Office 2003 and I just purchased the new HP 3310 photosmart all
in one. Both printers give me the same result. The same problem that the
others are having. The 3310 being a brand new model has the latest drivers
for certain. Again I want to thank you for your help

Did you try Office button, Save As PDF? If you do that, do you see the
same problems? If not, then you can save whatever you want to print as
PDF and then print the PDF with the Adobe Reader. Cumbersome, but a
workaround.
