Office 2007 Problem

I installed a purchased copy of Microsoft Office 2007 after using a trial
edition. My trial version included both Publisher and Access but the Standard
suite that I purchased does not. When I use the "New Microsoft Office
Document" shortcut from the start menu, I receive an error message due to
leftover shortcuts from Publisher and Access in the window that pops up. I do
not know how to remove these old shortcuts. I have attempted to uninstall and
reinstall the Office software, but I still receive the same error message.

Hi Lu,

Did you uninstall the Office 2007 Professional edition trial from Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel, before
installing the Office 2007 Standard edition and then restart the PC? (are multiple Office editions/versions listed in Add/Remove
Programs)

Yes. I uninstalled the trial version first. There is only one installation
listed under add/remove.

Try the following.
In Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs select Office 2007 and click on Change
then select Add or Remove Features. Look under Office Shared Features for
New and Open Microsoft Office Documents. Click the down arrow and select Not
Available to uninstall this feature. Close Office Setup.
May not be needed, but I would retort your computer.
Go back to the above and this time select Run on My Computer. Should
populate only with the applications you have installed.

Thanks for the quick response again, but the problem still remains when
taking these steps. Is there anyway to edit the registry or some part of the
program to keep the app from looking for the missing programs?
