Office 2007 Professional

Downloading my free copy as I type. Got it from MS when they did that free
offer thing a couple months ago

Question: Should I uninstall my Office Pro XP before installing this one? Or
should I keep both?

Thanks

How could that be? It was advertised as a full Office 2007 system. There is
no indication on the package that it is a beta...It came with a product
activation key.

Had I known or thought it was a beta I would not have sat through all those
sessions

How can I double check to make sure.?

That's a beta - and if it was the first beta, it's expired. Stick with
what you have.

I must apologize for posting the question. I called Microsoft and gave them
the product key and they confirmed it is a full retail office version. The
only reason I did not call before was because the jacket said telephone
support was not available in this delivery format...after all its free. The
tech person was however kind enough to listen and verify it for me.

But as to my other question , would it be better to uninstall my current
office version or does 2007 do that as part of the install?

Thanks again.

Hi Bill,

It is possible to run both versions. I, however, prefer to uninstall the old
version first. I have done this on several machines with good results.

Michael 1952

I attended the session in Washington DC and received my free copy along with
Groove. I had used Office 2003 Professional with XP SP2. I installed it
without having to uninstall 2003 and it went beautifully. I asked your
question at the session and they said it would be no problem, it was not.

Thanks for that Michael. I will go ahead and install it and then see how I
do before uninstalling the other one.
