I realize this may be confusing.... let me elaborate.
I am trying to install Office Professional Plus 2007 from file. The files
were copied from authentic volume license cd, zipped, ftp'd and unzipped onto
the server.

Server 2003 x64 (all updates) with Exchange 2007 and TS in application mode
(per user.)

the install files for office DO run (through mapped drive) on an XP client
machine. I can't find anything wrong with my server install (it's fresh) or
anything saying these products are incompatible. There is an office64 folder
running setup from file...

immediately after running setup, I recieve popup:

Hi Richard,

Is this a volume license copy with volume license key? Office 2007 doesn't run on Terminal Services without those.

Yes, this copy was purchased through tech soup, 20 licenses...

Setup fails immediately though...no prompt for key.

Geez...does anyone know of anything that might keep this from installing? Is
there a switch I can run with MSI that might tell me more?? Can anyone make
sense of that log???

Could the fact that I installed Exchange 2007 without first running
prepareAD have anything to do with it? BTW...why would exchange install run
without doing this on it's own??? It's like NT here with no exchange tabs in
AD. I figured exchange would prepare the schema itself...2003 did, didn't it?

Anywho..please help.

TIA

Hi Richard,

Were there any beta versions of Office products installed?
The only other case I've seen mentioned on this was installing an Office 2007 server product. In that case rebuilding the Windows
configuration was required. If Exchange Server is also not working as expected it's hard to separate where the problem might be
relative to Office.

I'm assuming your licenses are with a Volume License key and not 20 separate retail desktop licenses.
