Office 2007 safe mode

I am getting the officelifeboathang errors in my event log so I opened
PowerPoint in safe mode and do not have the problem when making changes to my
presentation. What doesn't run when you open powerpoint in safe mode? I'm
trying to narrow down what is causing my officelifeboathang issue.

Usually the add-ins
Orb Btn> Powerpoint Options>Add-ins

hmmmm...I don't have any add-ins in PowerPoint...there must be something else
safe mode does to PowerPoint. Everytime I try to change my fonts on graphics
it hangs and I get an error in the event log that says:
EventType officelifeboathang, P1 powerpnt.exe, P2 12.0.6500.5000, P3
ntdll.dll, P4 5.1.2600.5755, P5 NIL, P6 NIL, P7 NIL, P8 NIL, P9 NIL, P10 NIL.

I can't figure this out :-(
