Anyone having problems opening document via Sharpoint with Office 2007?
Everytime I try it crashes Word/Excel. I've removed 2007 and re-installed
2003 but the problem remains. Any ideas?

Hi Andrew,

It may depend on what version of Sharepoint product/services you're using with Office 2007 <g>. You may want to also post your
question with specifics on the type of document, the document format (2007 .docx or 2003 .doc, for example) and the steps you're
using.

I have the same issue.

I actually removed Office 2007 and went back to 2003 Pro SP2 and the problem
still occurs.

Any Sharepoint Word or Excel file causes the following details on the error
(This one is for Word):

AppName: winword.exe AppVer: 11.0.6568.0 ModName: msdaipp.dll
ModVer: 12.0.4017.1003 Offset: 00026594

Is this a known issue? Is there a fix? If not, how do I "uninstall" the
piece that Office 2007 left behind (since the problem still exists after
removing 2007).

Thanks

Jeff

I'm having the same problem here. Any word or excel documents opened from
Windows Sharepoint Services SP2 will cause Word, Excel and powerpoint to
crash with the msdaipp.dll error below (replace AppName with appropriate
app). The work around is for the user to save the files locally and then
open them.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I found this thread after encountering the same issue - I'm using IE7
Beta 3 and I uninstalled Office 2003 Pro SP2, installed Office 2007
Beta 2, attempted to edit a Word doc in SharePoint Services v2 SP2
(which I administer in my organization) and Word (or Excel, etc) kept
crashing. I then backed out of Office 2007 Beta 2 and reinstalled
Office 2003 Pro SP2 and the problem persisted.

I did just try something and it seems to have worked. I'm back to
Office 2003 Pro SP2 at this point and IE7 Beta 3. I've done nothing
more than removed Office 2007 Beta 2 via Add/Remove programs.

When I connected to a Document Library in SharePoint and go to the Edit
in Datasheet view, then Edit in Microsoft Word, the document launched
fine. I haven't had a problem since in SharePoint's standard Document
Library view. It seems there just needed to be that first correct
connection and Office and SharePoint are back to communicting to each
other fine.

The other idea I had was to go to My Network Places, find the Document
Library and launch the file I needed. I never got to try that before I
found this work around.

I'm going to install a VM using Office 2007 Beta 2 and see if the
datasheet work around works. Otherwise, at least I'm able to use
SharePoint and Office 2003 without a problem.
