office 2007 sp1 installation failed

I have my Office 2007 installed on the "D" draive but when I try to install
the Office 2007 Service pack 1 (office2007sp1-kb936982-fullfile-en-us.exe) it
always failed.
But on a machine with office on the "C" drive , the service pack install OK.

Mine is configured the same way with the same results. Any ideas on how to
fix this other than moving the installation to C:\ ?

Any progress on this problem with Office 2007 SP1?

My Vista system is installed on device V: (Vista made this choice as it
installed itself; Windows XP is on C:) so I don't really have the option to
install Office 2007 on C:.
