OFFICE 2007 sp2 FAILS WITH ERROR CODE 0X6b6

I am attempting to apply SP2 for Office 2007 on top of Win Server 2003 and it
fails repeatedly with error code 0x6B6. Anyone have an idea where I might
look? All of the info I have found about this error is pretty nebulous and
generally of no help.

This page http://support.microsoft.com/kb/942101 recommends "install Windows
Installer 3.1, and then install the service pack".

You can get Windows Installer 3.1 by downloading
WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe in the middle of the page at
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...fc-5f56-4a38-b838-de776fd4138c&displaylang=en

And then, as stated above, install sp2.

Give this method a try.

Alas, I already have Installer 3.1 on this host.
