Office 2007 Trial download

uttermission

I have been trying to download the trial version of Office 2007. It appears
to download fine and when I go to run it, it comes up with the error message
that it cannot be loaded. I do not know what to do at this point. I'm not
too awfully computer savy, but have a basic understanding. Not sure what the
deal is.

Hi Uttermission,

One of the causes of that message is an incomplete or damaged download. You may want to try downloading again. Also, what are the
steps you're using to try to install.

Hi-
I had the exact same situation - i read throught another long string which
had this suggestion by Bob Buckland ?:)...

-find the version of the file you downloaded - and the pathname of the
directory it is in - for example, c:\documents and settings\your user name\my
documents
-then create a new directory somewhere, e.g., c:\documents and settings\your
user name\my documents\office2007
-then click on start button, choose run, and in thecmd box type:
"c:\documents and settings\your user name\my documents\x12-30263"
/extract:"c:\documents and settings\your user name\my
documents\x12-30263\office2007"

(inclusive of all of the " marks)

Substitute for "your user name" whatever folder name your my documents
folder sits inside of - typically, its your user name. This extracts all of
the contents of the executable you downloaded and puts it into the new folder
your created

if this extracts all of the contents, then you can run the installer from
the setup.exe from the office2007 folder - this worked fine for me. If the
extract fails, then uttermission may be right and the download is corrupted.
