I have office 2000 on my computer and would like to know if it's necessary to
delete it before downloading a trail version of 2007
Thank you

No, but make sure you have the CD for Office 2000 to reinstall if you
don't elect to buy 2007.

Just to add to Bob's excellent advice is that should be aware when you install the
Office 2007 Trial your install of Office 2000 will not be working and removing the
Trial will not revert back to your previous Office 2000.

That is why make sure you have the Office 2000 install CD's

To add to the other two postings. When you install the trial you can
install as a parallel install using the custom menu to NOT overwrite the
previous installed programs. The only one that won't work properly would be
Outlook as you can only have one version of Outlook installed and operating
at one time.

If you do use Outlook and want to try Outlook's new features be aware that
the data file. (.pst) is not in the same format in 2000 as it is in 2007.
IIRC you can read 2000 .pst files in 2007 but not the other way around so
keep the old format .pst file until you are certain that you will upgrade.
Then when you purchase the full program you need to convert the old .pst
file to the new format in 2007 to enhance it's full capabilities.
