Office 2007 troubles after recent windows update

S

skyboy604

My windows was recently updated and now my office 2007 isn't working
properly. I've tried to reinstall the beta 2 update but it won't finish the
installation. I removed it first before re-installing. I've also removed
then reinstalled the original office 2007 beta with still no luck.

Have the same problem. I am using XP Pro SP2. Also have Office 2003
installed, but am not able to use that Outlook as I get a "incorrect or
corrupted mapi32.dll". All was triggered by recent Windows update. I've tried
re-installing the beta2, and then the technical refresh. All to no avail.

Any help here?

Thanks, Danny

Which Windows version?
Do you have Office 2003 installed?
What is your current state as to what is installed and what isn't?

Hi.

I have had the same problem; I am just wondering whether a repair
installation will work! Go to Control Panel > ADD/remove Programs, then find
the office 2007 installation, click the change, and then a setup window will
ask whether you want to repair or remove the installation. Try that, it
usually works.

Ok this is what you have to do!

1. Remove MS OFFICE 2003
2. Remove MS OFFICE 2007
3. Run windows install clean utility
4. Reinstall OFFICE 2007
5. Reinstall B2TR

You may not have to uninstall MS Office 2003, I thought there is no point in
having office 2003, if i have 2007. Another thing you may want to do is stop
your pc doing Office updates through Microsoft Update! This issue is
something to do with OFFICE 2003 updates which cannot work with 2007.

Hope that solves your problem, contact me for more info!

I am having exact same problem as guys in a thread above.
I uninstalled MS Office 2003, but & can not remove the MS Office 2007.
When I try to rewove it through the Control Panel> Add or Remove Program I
get the message - "This product installation has been corrupted. Run setup
again from the ... original installation source".

It I than run the downloaded MS Office 2007 Beta installation file I get to
the screen with two options: "Install" or "Customize". No matter which I
choose - I get the message: Microsof office Professional plus 2007 (beta)
encountered an error during setup". And the duly option I have there is to
close the message.

Please help me to get my office and Outlook back.

Sounds like something has happened with the configuration of your
installation, try this though.

Another Office B2TR user suggested this:

You can try the Cleanup Utility from here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/en-us

But it can only delete installer specific information. All application
settings kept in your machine or user profile must be removed (deleted)
manually. So you might need to delete program files and some registry keys
of Office 2007, too.

If you are having trouble removing Office 2007 with the setup program,
and the cleanup utility doesn't get you in a state where you can
reinstall, then don't mess around with the registry. Office 2007 is
rather sensitive and if you mess around there (esp. with reg cleaners),
it might just never reinstall.
Rather, if you can't remove Office 2007 and the cleanup utility doesn't
help, send me an email and I'll provide you with the manual removal
steps.

Thanks everybody for your help. I used the cleanup utility and eventually was
able to remove and then reinstall Office 2007. Now I am back in business.
The only question I have now is what's up with the "Enter your product key"
dialog I am getting every time I open any of the Office programs? I am able
to buypass it using Continue button, but then I get a warning that I will be
able to run the program 50 times before I will be required to enter a Product
Key.
Do we realy need the Product Key for the Beta and if so how can I get it?

Thanks in advance.

You should have gotten it when you downloaded Beta 2. And yeah, you need
it.
