Office 2007 Update Issues

Windows update continues to inform me that there are 3 imprortant updates for
Office 2007, however I cannot get them to install. They always fail with
error code 80070643. I check the error code out, and I make sure the OSE
service is set to manual, and still they fail. I tried to uninstall Office,
to just start over basically, and Office gives me a failure when it tries to
uninstall. I then insterted the CD rom, and tried to run a repair, and that
too fails. This version of office was upgraded from Office 2003, and the OS
was recently upgraded to Vista Ultimate from XP SP2. Any suggestions what I
can do to get the updates to install?? Everything runs fine in all the Office
software products, but not being able to install updates, or uninstall the
software tells me there is trouble. Please help.

No one from microsoft seems to be answering this particular issue. I can
only assume it is a new and bad problem that they are working on. I have had
several posts with similar problems that seem to be being ignored...

Yup, there are a lot of us with this same (or very similar) issue. It
would be nice if MS replied to some of these posts if for no other
reason than to acknowledge the issue and let us know that they're
working on the issue. The lack of response really is disappointing.
