Office 2007 Updates Fail w/error #80070663

I have Vista Home Basic and Office 2007 Enterprise. Vista Updates work OK,
but the same group of Updates for the Office Suite fail daily with error
80070663 (not in error database)and sometimes other numbers that may be in
the list but no help. I need to find out why and fix it or turn off updates.
I'm tired of the daily update fail. If anybody has a clue, please let me know.
Thanks...

Hi;

Sounds like this aricle fits: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/913754

However, since that involves many, many possible edits to the Registry, I
suggest you make a complete backup (of your system and of the Registry)
before beginning.

Sky... thanks for the reply! I thought it was the answer until I discovered
that my registry already had the strings listed in the article. Anyway I will
keep on hoping for a successful solution.

Hello AirMotor,

I was facing the same problem as you. I simply went to the Microsof
Support Page and downloaded all the updates installer and ran it on m
machine. All my updates got successfully installed.
Easiest way to do it is simply click on every updates on your vist
update app and click on the weblink which they give.

Hope this helps.

Cheers !!

this annoying problem continues to occur when updating PPT with securit
patches with Office 2007 SP 1/Vista Pro SP2. I would love to see th
Office team address this w/o manual registry entries
