Office 2007 upgrade question

We have three home computers. All three had Office 2003 on them. One died
and a new one was purchased. If I purchase Office 2007 upgrade can I
install it on all three computers? When it searches the new computer it
won't find the product code, but I do have it from the other computers.

I plan on buying a retail version. Does that help?

All I can find is that it is good for three computers, but that is will
search for prior installed version. I had the prior installed version on
the dead computer, and have it on the two live computers.

The only Office version good for three installs is the Home and Student
version and that is for home use and non-commercial use only. It is not
available as an upgrade, only a retail install onto 3 computers at a time
and would be cheaper than an upgrade version of Office 2007. The H & S 2007
version does NOT have Outlook but does have Word, Excel, PowerPoint and One
Note.

Any upgrade versions of Office are only allowed on a maximum of two
computers and that is for one device and then a portable device for the
exclusive use of the primary user of the first device.
