Office 2007 Word Beta: Ribbon and inserting a page number

Office '07 Word Beta

I select the Insert tab and then the (very large) icon for page number. I
see some options for where to place the page number insert except, where my
cursor is. I want to place it in a footer but without the pre-defined styles
- just the number.

I know I can select "Bottom of Page" from the options that have pre-defined
styles and then erase the things I don't want and format it differently - but
what a pain. All I want to do is insert just the page number at my cursor.

I sent a frown face feedback but wondered if anyone had any suggestions?
