Office 2007 xls convertion with office 2003

Hi

One of my users is running Win XP SP2 with off 2003 SP3 & the office 2007
compatibility pack.
Whenever she gets a spreadsheet mailed to her in a 2007 format it tries to
open & says that the file conversion is in progress but eventually fails to
open.
I reinstalled the compack & office & service packs & cleared the cache on
her machine.
Any ideas?
