Office 2007

Andy

Hi all,

I am looking to run Office 2007 on my computer. I am already running
Office 2003 with Windows XP Home Edition.

Can I keep Office 2003 and run side by side with Office 2007?
Should I partition and if so how & what is the best option?
Or is it simply better to uninstall Office 2003 and run Office 2007?

What are implications for all my saved files? Will I get them back if
anything goes wrong?

Cheers,

Andy.

This is just *my* personal opinion.

If you have files on your system that are important to you, the stability of
your computer is important to you, you are willing to risk reformatting your
computer, and accept the fact that it is a trial version, then go ahead and
download the beta.

If you are hesitating - don't do it. I'm not. I don't have a second computer
to test it on and I am not going to risk losing any information. Nor do I
feel like putting up with all of the potential issues that arise with beta
software. I'm not even planning on buying it until it's been out for a
while - maybe after the first service pack. Maybe...

The answer to your question can you run office 2003 alongside 2007 is no...it
seems to rewrite the registry and 2003 doesn't work. I've just had the same
problem and had to uninstall both 2007 and 2003 and then reinstall to sort
out. The files etc all seem ok as are the emails but a nuisance when you
can't access your emails.

It's a shame cos it was only outlook that went hay wire but then it IS a
test programme so you expect probs.

Ziggy.

You can run 2003 alongside 2007, but you can only have one version of Outlook
on the system.
