Yes, but why do you need to install it a second time? I hope you mean
reinstall it because you reformatted or something to that effect.

It's /just/ possible from the OP's not-very-clear post that he's
dual-booting...

It is the same hardware device, and doesn't violate terms of use, as
long as there is only one copy actually installed.

It seems to me that the OP is dual booting. (He mentions both XP and
Vista....) Therefore it's TWO installations as the EULA says that a
partition is counted as one device....

No, the exact phrase is "A hardware partition or blade is considered to
be a separate device." "A "hardware partition" is an operating computer
subset such that several of them may be running in one server cabinet.

Please read this article where hardware partitioning configuration is
described.

Interesting. As, (AFAIAA) you can't install Office to run from a server, (I
may be wrong....) then why does it mention partitions at all in the EULA
unless, they mean partitions in a HDD?
I still say, that installing twice, on two separate OSs, although on the
same HDD, is TWO installs, not one....

We need to combine threads. <grin> I haven't the hardware to play with
but nothing really prevents you from installing and running software
remotely except for the licensing agreement. Two points about the
language, they specifically say hardware partition, they could have left
the word hardware out if they had meant hard-drive partition, and then
the say "or blade" which is a physical "hardware partition" in a blade
chassis. We had a similar discussion awhile back as to whether the OS
could be installed in the same PC on two partitions. The language used
in the EULA specified "..........and run one copy" and since you could
only run one copy at a time you were ok. BUT now that we have Virtual
PC, you can literally run two copies at the same time and there by be in
violation of the EULA.
