Office 2008 Deleted File

When I installed Office 2008 for Mac there were no problems. My old Excel
2004 files located in my home folder were preserved.
However, the file located in my Office 2004 Excel "Startup" folder was
deleted. How can I get this file back? Thanks.

Check your backups.

The default startup folder is

HD:Applications:Microsoft Office 2004:Office:Startup:Excel


which gets removed with Office during an uninstall.

I always recommend setting an Alternate Startup Folder and putting it
somewhere safe - I made mine a folder inside the MUD folder.

For 2008, I'm putting it in

~:Library:Applications Support


which is the default location for User Templates.
