Office 2008 for Mac trial edition won't launch

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: Intel

I have just downloaded and installed the trial version of Office 2008 for Mac and I can't open any of the programs.

When I click on any of them (Word, Excell etc.) I get the window that says 'thank you for trying Office 2008 blah, blah, blah' and then when I click on the 'try' button to launch the program it just shows the opening graphic for that program, then freezes and I have to force quit to close it.

Is there something I'm missing? If I can't even get the trial version to work why would I even consider bothering with the full version!!!

Have you received the email with the activation code? The programs won't run
until that product key is entered. Assuming that isn't the issue, did you
repair disk permissions & restart your Mac after completing the
installation? If so & you still have a problem you're entitled to direct
support during the trial period which you can obtain from here:

FWIW, I've not seen any similar reports since the Try & Buy became available
so there is most likely a local issue that can be resolved.
