Office 2008 More font problems - Any Solutions?

I am experiencing 2 font related problems. When I go to preferences
and select show font in actual style, nothing happens, The list is just
plain type.

Also Wen I go to change fonts such as Times new Roman I get American
Typewriter. The only wany I can change a font is to do a Copy format.

Has anyone seen this??

It sounds like you preferences are corrupt and you need to empty your font
caches. See here to test your prefs:

Then trash your Office Font Cache:

Home> Library> Preferences> Microsoft> Office 2008> Office Font Cache (12)
