If you set a password to a doc. or spreedsheet and you
forget the password, is there a way around it. Or can you
recover your password?

Wrong newsgroup. This one is for Outlook.

Anyway; when you still have read access to it you can copy/paste the text
into a new document or in a new document choose Insert-> File...
