Office 97 and MS Works

I can get a full version of Office 97 Pro from a friend whose computer
recently died (it is not an OEM version, he bought it). He bought a new
computer and also the newest version of Office so he said I could have his
Office 97. My question - can I install *only* PowerPoint from Office 97
Pro? I have MS Works with Word 2000 (OEM) installed on my machine and the
only thing I'm really interested in adding right now is PowerPoint. I use
Windows 98SE. I just don't want any conflicts on my machine since I have
what I assume is a newer version of Works w/Word 2000. If I would decide
I'd like Excel or Access later on, would installing them pose any problems??

Hi, DG,

Yes, you can install individual components from the suite, without
introducing problems later.
