office 97 and xp pro

Will office 97 work with xp pro??? I tried and it
locked up my operating system.. Thanks

Yes, MS Office 97 works with Windows XP.
Did you install and use it while logged in as administrator
Did you have all other running software including antivirus
software shutdown when installing?
