OFFICE 97 -error

I am reinstalling 97 and i get: cofiguration of the OBDC
Microsoft Excel driver(.xls) driver failed. I had upgraded
from someones disk for office 2000 standard. I have 97
pro. So i took off 2000, and tried to reinstall 97. What
can i do? i need to fix it.
