hello,
the following may be the fault of windows95b, netscape communicator
(4.x) excel (from office 97) and / or me or a combo...
i have to use excel for work which entails pasting links into the cells.
for NO REASON, some of the links in the cells become "active" (i.e. the
mouse turns into the hand) and if i click it, netscape's profile manager
pops up (even though i am using mozilla and not netscape) and the sheet
freezes (can only end task on it).
there is absolutely no difference between an active link and a
non-active link... if i move the active link to another cell, it remains
active. HOWEVER, if i copy it and paste it into the mozilla browser,
load the page, and copy the link in the address bar and paste it into
another cell on the sheet, it is not active. (it is the exact same link
as is the active link character for character)
there is no difference under "format -> cells" (i.e. it is not
underlined, blue, etc.)
any suggestions?
thank you very much in advance!
