Office 97 installation on Windows XP

Kevin Brunt (Fat B@stard)!!

Windows XP SP2 has blocked installation of Office 97 as Microsoft wants everybody to buy the latest version of Office (revenues from new products are down at the moment). Uninstalling SP2 may not be possible in most new PCs as you simply can't uninstall SP2 if the OS was factory installed or you used a slip-streamed version of XP.

Have you tried going to your nearest store to see if they have a special deal on Office suites? Alternatively, try to download a pirated copy from the web. Just do a search or try Kazaa.
